Apparently today though, something happened during practice that he left upset.
DeAngelo has been dealing with an injury and the Flyers head coach John Tortorella stated that he was a game time decision for tonights game against the Islanders.
It's not sure if the injury has to do with how he left practice, but here is how the reports went:
Tony DeAngelo just left the morning skate early, and he didn't seem particularly happy as he did.
Tortorella said a few minutes ago that his status for tonight was still up in the air, and that it would be decided after morning skate. So this might not be the best sign for that. Charlie O'Connor (@charlieo_conn) November 29, 2022
DeAngelo has appeared to be dealing with the lingering effects of blocking a shot against the Penguins on Friday, hence his status being up in the air for tonight's game. No clue if his exit here is injury-related, but he wasn't happy as he walked off. Olivia Reiner (@ReinerOlivia) November 29, 2022
This one is very interesting as this is a drastic difference. Either in tonight or out for 6 weeks?
#Flyers HC John Tortorella says Tony DeAngelo will either play tonight or be out for the next 6 weeks. Decision to be made during warmups evil gritty (@DrEvilGritty) November 29, 2022
The Flyers have now lost 10 games (0-7-3) in a row, and you know that Tortorella does not like losing. The Flyers believed that they had a team better than what they saw in the standings last season and that's why they brought in Torts. If Tortorella believes this team is better than they are showing as well, then you definitely know that he is ''letting them have it'' in the locker room and during practice.
Update:
It's now been reported that DeAngelo is out tonight
Scott Laughton is back in the lineup tonight. That's great news!
The not so great news for the Flyers D is that Tony DeAngelo is out due to that injury (lower body) from the last game.
Also sad to see Jackson Cates go back to LV without being a liney with Noah this time around.— Locked On Flyers Podcast (@LockedOnFlyers) November 29, 2022
