The Boston Bruins are emerging as the league's frontrunners for Stanley Cup favourite this year, however, they still have some issues they need to address before the trade deadline if they want to be a serious post-season contender. One of these issues is physicality. Bruins Head Coach Jim Montgomery had the following to say after a loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets:
This issue is especially glaring with the absence of Milan Lucic, who likely won't return to the lineup this year. However, the Bruins may have found a replacement, someone who can bring the physicality and knows how to win Stanley Cups. That someone is Pat Maroon.
NHL executives have said that Pat Maroon could be available for a trade, saying the following:
Maroon is exactly the type of physical player that the Bruins could use, and would fit nicely in the gap left by Milan Lucic. He knows how to win Stanley Cups, and can hold his own production-wise, scoring 11 points in 23 games so far this year.
We will see if the Bruins take a swing at acquiring Maroon, and what exactly it is going to cost to get him.
