Yesterday Minnesota Wild General Manager, Bill Guerin re-signed pending UFA Marc-Andre Fleury to a new contract. They agreed to a 2-year contract with a cap hit of $3,500,000 per season .
While this is a great signing for the Wild, according to Guerin himself he didn't talk about this plan with Cam Talbot.
Hockey Insider Darren Dreger revealed:
Minnesota has acknowledged they plan on going with a Fleury/Talbot tandem. Discussions with Talbot and his agents expected tomorrow to make sure the veteran goalie is on board with that.
Talbot went 32-12-4 last season with a 2.77 goals against average and .911 save percentage. Talbot has just one season left on his contract that pays $3.66 million dollars.
Today Cam Talbot's agent came out and gave a very ominous statement about how his client feels about the situation.
``We both stated our positions,'' Bazos said via text message. ``Billy has a lot to think about.''
It would appear that Cam Talbot is not happy with this choice and it will be interesting to see how Guerin moves forward with this situation.
