Claude Giroux is labeled "The Big Fish" of this year's NHL trade deadline. He's the piece of the puzzle that every team thinks will help get them over the hump and into a Stanley Cup Final. While that may be the case for team's like Florida and Colorado, there are AT LEAST two other teams that felt they could add Giroux, but he didn't feel his chance to win was in either city.
According to Anthony SanFilippo, a Flyers writer there were at least two other team's who made solid pitches for Giroux, but the Flyers' Captain didn't see them as locations he'd approve trades too.
The Flyers were considering offers from four teams - Florida, Colorado, Boston and the New York Rangers.
It is believed that Giroux nixed offers to New York and Boston.
It appears Giroux remains in high demand as it is reported both Florida and Colorado have substantial offers in for the forward this morning.
