This week on Elliotte Friedman's 32 thoughts he revealed the Boston Bruins' ask for forward Jake DeBrusk. According to Friedman the Bruins are looking to acquire an established forward or defenseman in return. The Bruins struggled to begin the season with subpar goaltending but have seemed to have righted the ship so it makes sense they'd want to add a piece who can immediately assist in their lineups.
Friedman also shared the following thought:
From Friedman's latest "32 Thoughts" column:
Boston is definitely willing to do a Jake DeBrusk deal, but on its terms. They are looking for the best defenceman/forward they can find, and are unafraid to take a chance on a younger player. But they are telling potential partners that they value DeBrusk, and won't make what they feel is a bad deal because the trade request is now public.
According to reports last week as many as 8-10 teams had reached out with interest in DeBrusk but as stated the Bruins won't do a deal just for the sake of doing a deal.
DeBrusk has 7 points in 21 games to start this season.
