The Czech HHOF housed some of the Czech Republics' most memorable hockey icons and their gear. It served as a place for young Czechs to admire their nation's history in the sport of hockey and inspired kids to lace up their own pair of skates. Unfortunately, the Hall ran into some financial trouble and had to close its doors, meaning the rightful owners of any equipment stored there had to pick it up.
While there's speculation that a new Czech HHOF could be built in Prague, nothing has been confirmed, and any construction would take years to complete. It will be a long time before any version of this establishment is open again.
Dominik Hasek had to make the emotional trip to the Hall as it prepared to close its doors, so he could gather any of his belongings that were housed in the Hall.
The translated caption from that video gives fans a better idea of just how sad this is for locals.
Hasek has been a huge supporter of Czech youth hockey, and will certainly continue to support its growth in the coming years. While the HOF may no longer be active, Hasek isn't going away.
