Former MVP Eyeing Return To Hometown Team
Corey Perry looks like he will be hitting the open market and insiders speculate on if he will return to his hometown team to retire.
Former MVP Eyeing Return To Hometown Team
Despite his age of 38, Corey Perry is still a very effective NHLer and especially a productive playoff performer. Despite a rather lackluster regular season stat-wise, Perry picked things up and scored five points in 6 playoff games.
While he is not the 50-goal scorer he used to be, he could very well be a nice bottom-six piece on any contending team providing grit and sandpaper with some scoring upside.
Per Elliotte Friedman, Perry will be hitting the open market this off-season.

Because of this, many speculate on if Perry could potentially go to the Toronto Maple Leafs, being a native of Peterborough.
If Perry returns home, he will try and win a Stanley Cup for the Maple Leafs for the first time since 1967. It would be the storybook ending to a hall of fame worthy career.
