For the second time this season Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov failed to make it through an entire game versus the Tampa Bay Lightning and he let his feelings be known after getting the hook.
Samsonov Goes Viral For Throwing Helmet At Bench
The Lightning lit Samsonov up for four goals over the first 15 minutes of play on Monday night, prompting head coach Sheldon Keefe to end his starting goalie's evening.
As the Toronto netminder made his way off the ice, he yanked his mask off with his blocker hand and furiously smashed it onto the bench.
Samsonov previously faced Tampa Bay back on October 21st and was pulled after allowing three of the first shots by, in less than 14 minutes of action.
Kucherov has Samsonov's number
Nikita Kucherov beat him for two goals in that first meeting and assisted on the other goal. On Monday night, the Lightning forwards struck for two more against Samsonov, and assisted on the two other goals that they scored on him.
Kucherov now has nine goals and 11 assists over the first 12 games of the season and his 20 points is tops for Tampa Bay.
