This past week in Vancouver has been an absolute rollercoaster, with the team coming close to trading J.T. Miller to his former team over the weekend in what would have been a blockbuster deal.
The Rangers have been a team linked to Miller for quite some time, and after scratching several pieces for the Hartford Wolf Pack's latest game, the belief was that a deal was imminent.
However, the deal would fall apart in the final stages, with an insider now revealing the pieces that would have been sent to Vancouver in the monumental deal.
According to reports, it would have been three pieces sent West in the deal, with the Canucks landing young forward Filip Chytil, veteran defenseman Ryan Lindgren and a conditional first-round pick.
It was the conditions on that final piece however that reportedly killed the deal, although many Canucks fans that have seen this report believe it was a very underwhelming return anyway, with the majority believing the team dodged a bullet in this deal.
While Chytil and Lindgren are both solid pieces, one has been often injured over the years while the other is playing the worst season of his career on top of being an Unrestricted Free Agent this summer, making it a very underwhelming package indeed.
With other teams like Boston, New Jersey, Carolina, and Dallas all potentially involved in the running for the 31-year-old, it's safe to say that Vancouver could get a much better package elsewhere, but even after this deal fell apart, don't expect New York to give up on acquiring Miller yet.
