Named the first captain in Golden Knights history, Mark Stone's future with the franchise seems uncertain due to injury.
Stone's injury last season held him to substantially less playing time than he is accustomed too and as he has indicated continues to loom over his future.
Stone signed a 8-year contact with the Golden Knights in 2019, after establishing himself in the league as a leader and one of the best 2-way forwards in the NHL, leading the league in takeaways the same season.
The loss of Stone permanently due to injury or temporarily in a reduced playing time role like this past season is a huge blow to the Golden Knights squad who came into the league on fire, going all the way to the Stanley Cup finals in their first year and qualifying for the playoffs in their first 4 seasons.
This is the first year Vegas hasn't made it to the playoffs in franchise history.
Fans of Vegas and Stone have also speculated on his apparent injury.
Could we have seen the final game of Mark Stone in a Golden Knights uniform, or worse, the NHL?
