At his own doing, things have gotten very bad for Milan Lucic following an incident on Friday night where he was arrested after allegedly choked his wife.
Now, the Boston Bruins forward faces the very real possibility of losing his job due to his heinous actions.
Legal proceedings scheduled for Monday
On Monday, Lucic is expected to appear in court to be arraigned at which time the full details of his arrest will become available.
A noted «tough guy» during his time in the league, he has taken a leave of absence from the Bruins, who he re-signed with in the offseason on a one-year, $1 million deal.
Expectations are that Boston could make a decision on his future status with the club as soon as Monday.
Lucic played his first eight NHL seasons in Boston and returned to the club this season after stops in three other places.
In the wake of his arrest, an incident in 2011 involving Lucic and law enforcement resurfaced.
Not long after winning the Stanley Cup with the Bruins that year, Lucic got into an argument with his girlfriend in front of a Boston Starbucks.
No charges were filed against Lucic in that incident and the organization said that they were handling the matter «internally» at the time, with no additional information released in the follow up.
