It was a very special for the Great 8 Alex Ovechkin during tonight's game vs the two time defending Stanley cup champions Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals, Alex Ovechkin makes a little history.
With the Capitals leading 2-1 Alex Ovechkin gets a opportunity to put the Capitals up 3-1 and at 15:10 of the first period that's exactly what Ovechkin did.
Snapping the puck past Tampa Bay Lightning's goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy. What made this goal special is that it was Ovechkin's 1400th NHL point. Alex Ovechkin becomes just the 21st player in NHL history to reach this honuor.
Ovechkin's still got his eyes on Wayne Gretzky's 894 goals. Ovechkin at 36 doesn't seem to show any sign of slowing down.
