One of the major issues that fans, coaches and General Managers have had with the league lately is the poor officiating and the non-consistency with the Department of Player Safety.
In last nights blowout game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning, where the Bolts dominated the Leafs 8-1, this sucker punch to the back of the head of Michael Bunting went uncalled.
While we have seen worse punches go uncalled, this is a clear head contact shot which is most definitely a penalty, and a month ago we watched Taylor Hall get suspended for a similar sucker-punch.
We do not know yet if Sergachev will be getting a call from the Department of Player Safety, but judging from how they ruled Taylor Hall's punch, he definitely should be.
