The Avalanche versus Panthers game got extremely heated, which is surprising for two teams who play each other so rarely.
One thing to monitor with the NHL Department of Player Safety is the actions of Mikko Rantanen who exited the penalty box and became almost immediately engaged with Mackenzie Weegar. When this scrum began the benches had already begun to empty causing a little extra issues for the officiating team.
It will be interesting to see if Rantanen is fined or if the NHL looks at this play at all given their recent inconsistency.
