The Toronto Maple Leafs have earned a crucial victory in game four of the Leafs and Panthers best-of-seven series on Wednesday night, allowing them to continue their playoff journey. The game was the most physical of the series, featuring a significant amount of post-whistle activity, which culminated in chaos at the final buzzer after a late check by Brandon Montour.
During the ensuing scrum, Matthew Tkachuk, who is known as an agitator, landed several punches to the face of his former junior hockey teammate, Mitch Marner. Marner later commented on the incident, stating:
"I know what he's trying to do, and I don't really give a flying f," you know what the other word is
For those who are unaware, Marner and Tkachuk were former linemates for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League and won the Memorial Cup together in 2016.
