He became a full time member of the team during the 2016-17 season and has never looked back. Woods best season in the NHL came in his second season where he scored 19 goals and 32 points, but hasn't quite lived up to those numbers since, but you can always peg him in for 10+ goals and 20+ points.
After missing all of last season but 3 games with an injury, Wood was hoping that the young Devils team after making a few acquisitions this offseason would be ready to make a playoff push this season.
Wood is entering his 7th season with the team and has only made it to the playoffs once, which was back in the 2017-18 season.
In a media conference today, Wood let loose after their embarrassing 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers Thursday night, saying:
«I'm just sick and tired of being on a bad team, that's the thing that stinks the most. Tomorrow is a must-win game for us and it's my job to get the guys going.» #NJDevils Miles Wood Amanda Stein (@amandacstein) October 14, 2022
While being a ''good player'' is defined by more than just points, they definitely do play a large factor and over his career, his production has not come close to other members of the organization.
