Jack Eichel was drafted 2nd overall back in 2015, but in his own words, he believes he should have went first and believed he was better than Connor McDavid.

After a few years in Buffalo, not making the playoffs, he sustained an injury that he and the team did not agree on treatment for, which forced a trade to the Vegas Golden Knights on November 4th 2021, for Peyton Krebs, Alex Tuch, conditional round 1 pick in the 2022 draft (Noah Ostlund) and conditional round 2 pick in the 2023 draft.

Eichel got into the final 34 games of last season where he scored 14 goals 11 assists 25 points. For the 7th straight season of his career, he did not get to play in the playoffs as the Golden Knights missed for the first time in their existance.

This season, the Golden Knights have rebounded and are currently tied for first place in the Pacific Division. Eichel is currently third on the team in points with 15 goals 19 assists for 34 points in 33 games.

Despite being a point per game player though, according to his head coach, he is not living up to expectations:

Jack just hasn't been the same driving force for us as he was at the start of the year... The expectations are not getting met by Jack. He needs to be better for us especially as we're down a few guys that create offense for us.
