Over the 18 months in the lifespan of the PWHL, the league has grown immensely and put women's hockey on the map as a genuine spectator sport and draw, especially in Canada after they've pulled in some record crowds since their first game.
For the most part, things have been very positive, with talks heading towards not one but two expansion teams in the next 18 months, but on Tuesday, a very dirty play happened that was caught on social media.
During the Minnesota Frost's 4-3 victory over the Toronto Sceptres, a Toronto player was skating off the ice, clearly hurt and looking to get to the bench, but before she could get there, Brooke McQuigge gave her an incredibly unnecessary shove.
While some on social media didn't have an issue with it, many others were calling out the intent behind the play rather than the amount of contact, as this was an unnecessary move that put the injured player in danger even further.
During the game, this contact was quickly overlooked, as the official got in the way of this and shut it down before things could escalate, but hopefully this is something that the league can keep an eye on moving forward as it wasn't a play that needed to be made.
Ultimately though, the PWHL is certainly worth checking out, as the level of play has been fantastic all season long, and while this type of physicality is always fun, there's no need for the dirty play, so hopefully that gets cleaned up moving forward.
