The Montreal Canadiens have been trying to balance their budget ahead of the regular season since they are very close to the salary cap limit. The Canadiens have already announced that goaltender Carey Price is not expected to play this upcoming season and will be placed on long term injury reserve.

However the Canadiens have too many forwards and at the moment don't have the cap space to sign recently acquired center, Kirby Dach, so we are expecting more changes to still come.

According to Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now:

The Montreal Canadiens have placed three forwards on the trade market.

Those three players are:

Center Christian Dvorak who has a annual salary of $4,450,000 and three years remaining on his contract.

Forward Joel Armia who has a annual salary of $3,400,000 million dollars and also has three years left on his deal.

Forward Mike Hoffman has a annual salary of $4,500,000 million and has 2 years left on his current contract.
