Irfaan Gaffar of The Fourth Period is reporting that the expectation is that the Evander Kane investigation will come to an end this weekend and if things go Kane's way there is a very good chance that Kane will be available for the Oilers as early as Tuesday night against Vancouver.
Rumours continue to circulate that the Oilers have already agreed in principal to a contract with Kane for $1,500,000 for the remainder of this season, but any decision hinges on the investigation. If Kane were to be signed and then suspended there would be no cap relief for the Oilers at all.
Gaffar has shown in the past his ability to break news as he was the first to report on the Canucks firings of Jim Benning before anyone else.
