The Buffalo Sabres have acquired Johnny Boychuk from the New York Islanders.
Boychuk had previously announced his retirement from hockey due to an eye injury he previously suffered.
Taking on Boychuk's $6,000,000 cap hit and $1,250,000 salary allows Buffalo to remain above the cap after trading Jack Eichel.
This remains the opposite of the Tampa Bay Lightning as it allows them to remain above the cap without icing a team above the cap.
