It sounds like Sam Girard's time in Colorado might be coming to an end. According to Mike Chamber of the Denver Post.
According to Chamber it looks like the Avalanche are trying to clear themselves of Girard's salary in exchange for a forward. Girard is in the second year of his seven year deal and hasn't been particularly impressive dating back to the 2nd round series against Vegas.
It'll be interesting to see how this situation progresses and Girard has also clearly been passed on the depth chart by Bowen Byram.
You have to believe if Girard is available there will be plenty of teams interested.
