Shane Corson joins Darcy Tucker in praising Leafs forward Michael Bunting through 4 games
Leafs legend Darcy Tucker issued some well-deserved praise to Toronto Maple Leafs forward Michael Bunting earlier this week on Twitter, following a strong start to the 2021-22 campaign.
As if it's not enough to have a guy like Tucker give you his seal of approval, another former Leaf in grinder Shane Corson also took the time to chime in on Bunting's hot start with the Buds during TSN's Leafs Lunch on Thursday.
"Yes, [Bunting] gets my stamp of approval," Corson said, applauding the efforts of the 26-year-old through 4 games. "I think he's a really good hockey player and I'm happy to see him getting a chance, because he's not only a great hockey player.. I got to know him and he's a great kid and you like to see good kids do well."
With the loss of workhorse Zach Hyman in free agency earlier this summer, the Leafs desperately needed a win this offseason, and Bunting appears to be just that in the early-going.
Bunting plays a similar game to that of both Tucker and Corson, albeit with a bit more of a scoring touch and less of a fighting acumen, but it's nice to see a couple of hard-nosed members of the Leafs alumni pump this kid's tires. The Leafs appear to have found a gem in this hardworking Scarborough kid.
