Before last night's Vegas Golden Knights game Alex Pietrangelo was asked about attending next year's Olympics in Beijing. Pietrangelo was one of three players already added to the Team Canada roster but gave the following answers:

``There's a lot of things, especially guys with families, that we're taking a look at. I'm not going to make a decision until we get all the answers, because I think those are hard to come by right now.''

NHL agreed to send players to Beijing but has the ability to pull out of the Games at any point. Doing so before January 10th will avoid financial penalty.

The International Olympic Committee has said that, "an athlete at the Games that tests positive for COVID-19 will need to produce two negative tests 24 hours apart. If they're unable to do so, the quarantine period could last from 21 days up to five weeks."

Pietrangelo added:

``I've got four kids that are under the age of three and a half. For me to be potentially locked up there for five weeks plus the Olympics, that's a long time being away from my family.''

Pietrangelo did share that he expects to get the answers ``sooner than later.''

Pietrangelo's teammate Robin Lehner has already opted out and will not be playing for Team Sweden like had been expected. There is an expectation that more players will opt out in the next few weeks.
