Despite speculations of retirement following an up and down season split between Chicago and Minnesota, Marc-Andre Fleury announced recently that he will continue his NHL career and play another season.

After being traded to Minnesota from Chicago at the trade deadline Fleury posted an impressive stat sheet for Minnesota, with a 9-2 record and 2.74 goals-against average and .910 save percentage.

He faltered somewhat in the playoffs, going 2-3 in 5 games with a 2.04 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in Minnesota's eventual first round exit against the St. Louis Blues in 6 games in the NHL playoffs.

Fleury has commented on his time in Minnesota and expressed an interest in returning:

»It was such a great time, loved the time [in Minnesota] and everything,» Fleury said«Made it very appealing to play here. Definitely [I'd consider coming back]. I'm glad I came, I'm glad I got the opportunity to play with this team. Such a great locker room, great chemistry between the guys and the staff, coaches. Even people around town, when I went to restaurants and stuff, everybody was very welcoming and nice. They love the game, they love their hockey here, so it was good to live this.»

That said Minnesota has little cap-room with on 8.18 million available, and with Cam Talbot already signed for goalie Fleury may have to look elsewhere to continue his stories career.
