Jonathan Toews is set to make his return to the NHL in the near future and now insider Frank Seravalli has shared three teams he could return with.
Recently, the hockey world was shaken by the news that Jonathan Toews is preparing to return to the NHL as he feels the best he has in years.
With that, fans immediately began wondering what team Toews would make his return with. Insider Frank Seravalli gave the fans a few spots that Toews could play for once he returns.
"I'm told that multiple teams expressed interest in Toews' potential return to his agent in Pat Brisson from CAA Sports... One of them is the Toronto Maple Leafs... the other would be the Winnipeg Jets... and the third would be the Colorado Avalanche," - Frank Seravalli
Each of these teams has a unique draw for Toews as he looks to return. First, the Leafs have been looking for a third-line center all season and Toews could be the perfect fit. Additionally, he could bring a championship mentality to the Leafs locker room which they desperately need.
Next, the Jets are Toews' hometown team. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Toews could return to be closer to home but also to help them compete for the Stanley Cup as they seem to have a total buy-in from their players.
Finally, the Colorado Avalanche is still looking to add more pieces and Toews could become an invaluable one. He has the champion pedigree, like most of the Avalanche's locker room, but he also can bring third-line consistency and help their top players like Nathan Mackinnon and Mikko Rantanen play less as they currently average 22:18 and 23:03 a night.
At the end of the day, Toews will likely eventually make his return and will look to compete for one final Stanley Cup before he retires for good.
