New Colorado Avalanche forward Martin Necas was on the Spittin Chiclets podcast recently where he roasted Paul Bissonnette.

Martin Necas has certainly had a breakout season. The 26-year-old has 59 points through 52 games, on pace to smash his career high of 71 points which he set in the 2022-23 campaign.

Of course, the Czech center was recently part of a blockbuster trade as he was moved to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Mikko Rantanen.

Rantanen was not very happy about the move but at the end of the day, the NHL is a business and the Avs did what they felt they had to do.

So far, the move has worked out for them. This morning, Necas was a guest on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast where he discussed his breakout season, while roasting Paul Bissonnette at the same time.

"You guys know how it is when you get on the first powerplay unit. Maybe not you Biz, but every time there is a powerplay you don't even think, you just jump on the ice and you get those touches and every time you don't think, you just play in the zone and that's how I've felt this season. Not thinking too much, just playing my game and being on the ice way more too, which has been great."

Since joining the Avalanche, Necas has not missed a beat.

In three games with his new club he has four points, all assists, and seven shots on goal.

He has 2 assists in each of his last two games and has also enjoyed a significant bump in ice time, getting just about 25 minutes in two of his games with Colorado so far and just under 20 in the third.

While Necas may technically be considered a downgrade over Mikko Rantanen, his contract situation fits the needs of the team more which sets him up for long-term success with the club.

Hopefully he will continue to light the lamp with his new club this season.
