After going into overtime against Team Sweden, Nathan MacKinnon of Team Canada is speaking out against bringing 10-minute overtime periods to the regular season

Hockey fans in Canada were on the edge of their seats last night while Team Canada and Team Sweden went into overtime at the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Despite the hype for hockey and the tournament generated by Canada's eventual 4-3 OT win, star Nathan MacKinnon said he's not a fan of the format.

There is some speculation that the rules being used at the 4 Nations Face-Off will bring potential changes to the NHL next season,

Nathan MacKinnon, who opened the scoring for Team Canada during the game, said the 10-minute, three-on-three OT period is just too much, adding he wouldn't want to see anything over seven minutes in a regular season NHL game.

MacKinnon had a couple of chances during the overtime period against Sweden, but it was Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs who became the overtime hero for Team Canada.

The win over Sweden had Canadian hockey fans buzzing, but it wasn't without some bad news.

Team Canada Defenceman Shea Theodore will miss the rest of the 4 Nations Face-off with an upper-body injury after leaving the game against Sweden in the second period.

Team Canada can now rest until Saturday night when they face Team USA in Montreal. Team USA takes on Team Finland tonight.
