The Utah Hockey Club appears to be one step closer to revealing their final name as Ryan Smith shared two of the final name ideas on the Pat McAfee show today.

At the end of the regular season, fans noticed a number of trademark applications being made related to the Utah Hockey Club. Several brand names were under application including the Utah Blizzard, Utah Venom, and Utah Fury. Later, several more names came out including the Utah Mammoth and Utah Yeti.

"On Tuesday, applications were filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office for trademarks on the following names:

Today, it looks like we are getting closer to reaching some clarity on the name situation. Originally, there were about 10 potential names being discussed, but Smith stated today that they are down to the final four. That includes two names that he dropped himself, the Yeti and the Mammoth.

NHL Utah owner Ryan Smith made an impromptu appearance on The Pat McAfee Show today, and gave a bit of a sneak peek on a couple of the finalists for the team name. 👀
