Johnny Gaudreau was one of the most beloved players in the NHL over the past decade, and after his sudden passing, the outpouring of love and support for his family, friends and former teammates has been amazing. Now, we've seen another tribute, this time from the NFL, with Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton rocking a Flames Gaudreau jersey to the stadium on Sunday.
This connection makes perfect sense, as the California native spent three seasons and played 54 games with the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, all through Johnny Hockey's prime in the same city. The pain that many are feeling won't go away anytime soon, with Gaudreau inspiring so many around the hockey and wider sports world for his success despite his size, and with his loveable personality, he indeed became a hero to so many.
The fact that we have seen so many tributes is a testimony to his character, and with hockey season almost upon us, it wouldn't be shocking to see many more roll in over the coming weeks and months.
