Vezina Winner Linus Ullmark Ruins Potentially Massive Trade

The Boston Bruins had a lot of speculation surrounding their team heading into the trade deadline. The Bruins have played much better than many expected and continue to contend However, many thought they would still trade one of their goaltenders. It turns out that the Bruins attempted to offload Linus Ullmark but ran into a roadblock.

Ullmark Ruins A Massive Trade

Multiple reports have confirmed that the Boston Bruins were ready and willing to move on from Linus Ullmark. Things got to the point where Ullmark was asked to move his no-trade clause. However, Ullmark decided not to and the deal fell through.

The #Bruins 🇺🇸 had a deal in place to trade reigning Vezina winner Linus Ullmark 🇸🇪 � but he 'nixed' the deal due to the geography of the team he would've been going to.

Ullmark reportedly did not enjoy the city he was going to be sent to which led to him turning down the deal. While there has not been confirmation of the team involved one insider speculated on who the other team was.

Insider Says Ullmark Turns Down A Move To A New City

The reports that came in from insider Frank Seravalli indicated he believed the other team involved was the Los Angeles Kings.

Fascinating day for #NHLBruins, sounds like they had a deal on the table to move G Linus Ullmark to #LAKings that didn't end up crossing the finish line.

While this has not been officially confirmed many fans have taken the report and ran with it. After the deadline passed Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney was asked about the trade that almost was.

Sweeney on rumors of Ullmark-to-LA: "I really like the tandem we have now. I'm happy we've (stood) pat there ... rumors are rumors. It's not coming from here."

He confirms they are happy with their duo and that any rumors did not start from the Bruins organization. As we get into the summer after the season it will be fascinating to see if Ullmark is moved to a new home or if he is here to stay in Boston.
