Major reports are coming out from insider Elliotte Friedman that the San Jose Sharks have managed to acquire goalie Yaroslav Askarov from the Nashville Predators. Barry Trotz has made the move to send the disgruntled goaltender to a new city.
It has been revealed that the main player coming back in return to the Nashville Predators is former first-round pick forward David Edstrom and a 2025 first-round pick. The full trade details are Yaroslav Askarov, Nathan Burke, and a third-round pick to San Jose for a 2025 first-round pick, David Edstrom and Magnus Chrona.
Yaroslav Askarov is arguably one of the best goalie prospects in the league. As a former first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, Askarov has not gotten much of a chance at the NHL level, as he has only suited up in 3 NHL games. In the AHL, Askarov has proven that the hype is real as last season he had a 2.39 goals against average and a 0.911 save percentage.
At just 22 years old, Yaroslav Askarov will now get the opportunity to become the starting goaltender for the San Jose Sharks.
More to follow.
