New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning make a 1-for-1 player swap

Following yesterday's blockbuster trade, there is another one to report today, as the Rangers and Lightning have swapped one player for another.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired a forward from the New York Rangers in exchange for another forward, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Lucas Edmonds heads to Tampa while Ryder Korczak heads to the Rangers

Ryder Korczak, 22, has played in 35 games with the American Hockey League's Hartford Wolf Pack this season, scoring three goals and 11 points with 14 penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating.

The 5-foot-11, 172-pound forward has played in 107 career AHL contests, all with Hartford, registering 12 goals and 31 points with three power-play goals and 42 penalty minutes.

He made his Calder Cup Playoffs debut last season with the Wolf Pack, where he scored one goal and two points in 10 playoff games.

A native of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Korczak was originally drafted by the New York Rangers, 75th overall, in the third round of the 2021 NHL Draft.

Lucas Edmonds, 23, has scored five points, one goal, and four assists, in 26 games with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch this season. The native of North Bay, ON, has played in 120 career AHL games with the Crunch, scoring 48 points.

The 5-foor 11, 179-pound forward set career-high marks in goals with 15, assists with 12, and points with 27 as a rookie with the Crunch during the 2022-23 campaign.

Edmonds was selected in the third round, 86th overall, of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
