Last night, during a game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Montreal Canadiens, Nikita Kucherov avoided punishment after a dirty hit, unfortunately for Calgary fans, Martin Pospisil did not get away without punishment after a dirty hit against the Winnipeg Jets.

Late in the second period Pospisil elbowed Josh Morrissey, a defenseman for the Winnipeg Jets, unfortunately for Pospisil, the officials noticed the hit and ejected him, this has been the 3rd time he has been ejected during a game this season.

Here is a clip of the hit:

This is the second time Pospisil has been ejected in the span of a little over a month. On March 5, he was ejected after illegally hitting Vince Dunn from the Seattle Krakens from behind. He was also ejected after illegally cross checking Brad Marchand from the Boston Bruins

Josh Morrissey commented on the hit during a post game interview, he said

"Obviously I don't love getting hit. I don't think anyone does. It's not so much not wanting to be hit, it's more trying to have the puck under control and not putting yourself in a position to get hit, It is what it is. They upgraded it to a five and that's the ref's decision and we'll see if anything comes from it.

"I watched it after. In the moment I didn't feel like it was dirty, I guess. I felt like I got smoked and it's part of the game. When I watched it after he kind of extends the elbow. Thankfully he just grazed my chin and didn't make contact but obviously he's got a history and the elbow is probably the piece I feel is the reckless part of the hit. The league will look it. Obviously he's got a couple of suspensions so not the best to be losing money like that. We'll see what happens."

Pospisil seems to have developed a habit of illegally hitting other players, it is almost certain that he has now attracted the attention of the department of player safety, who will most likely issue some sort of additional punishment for his latest dirty hit.
