When the Chicago Blackhawks landed the No. 1 overall pick this past summer, attention turned immediately to Connor Bedard, and thus far he's been electrifying in his rookie campaign.
Lofty expectations for Bedard in the Windy City
From the moment he became a Blackhawk, Connor Bedard has dealt with major expectations, and with his rookie year getting off to a hot start, the city is in good hands with their 18-year old.
In 43 games this year, Bedard has 17 goals and 39 points as a rookie, and given the dynasty that this franchise just went through, it's no surprise that Bedard has been seeing comparisons to Patrick Kane which he has now addressed.
Connor Bedard addresses comparisons to Patrick Kane
When asked in a recent interview about the comparisons to Patrick Kane in the media and from some fans, this is what Bedard had to say;
«I don't care too much what people say. If I can be anything like him, that's pretty great, the career he had. I'm my own person and player and everything, so I'll do what I do and he does what he does.»
Connor Bedard and whether he minds comparisons to Patrick Kane
Bedard continues to show his maturity with a fantastic answer to the question, but it's clear that he's focused on himself and the goals he has set in the NHL, so don't expect the second coming of Showtime in Chicago, sit back and enjoy the one and only Connor Bedard.
