Johnny Gaudreau's sudden passing was a tragedy that was felt by the entire NHL world, but now one of the league's top reporters has made a disgusting comment.

This past summer has been hard on everyone in the NHL world with the sudden passing of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau, and for the most part, the respect and tributes paid to both men have been heartfelt and meaningful. Unfortunately, not everyone can say that, as NHL Insider Frank Seravalli recently put together a list of 32 bold predictions, and unfortunately, couldn't help but make a disgusting comment about Gaudreau.

During his prediction about the Columbus Blue Jackets, Seravalli predicted that they would win the draft lottery, and on its own that comment is fine, but when it's begun in this fashion, it's simply not okay.

Seravalli began his point with the phrase "with a little help from Gaudreau", suggesting that his death was nothing but a way to get the Blue Jackets to a better draft position, and while it may not have been intended that way, it certainly came across that way. Since that point, the reporter has changed it to say "with a little help from above", but simply put, that's not okay, as the insinuation remains the same in a disgusting display from Seravalli, who should know much better.

Unsurprisingly, the comments on his X post are filled with people complaining and lambasting the veteran reporter for his disgusting comments, but given the change he made, it's clear that he's okay with how it now sounds.

Given the change, it appears as though Seravalli believes he has avoided any criticism for the gross point that he made, but that's not the case, so hopefully all of the criticism in reaction to his article forces an apology and a change from the Daily Faceoff reporter.
