Former 35-goal scorer Mike Hoffman signs a contract with Stanley Cup contender
Mike Hoffman is on his way to Edmonton. The Oilers have just offered the former 35-goal scorer a PTO so that he can attempt to earn a roster spot.
The Edmonton Oilers have signed veteran forward Mike Hoffman to a professional tryout contract as NHL training camps opened this Wednesday.
The 34-year-old Hoffman played in San Jose last season, recording 10 goals and 23 points in 66 games.
A fifth-round draft choice of the Ottawa Senators in 2009 as the No. 130 overall pick, Hoffman scored a career-high 36 goals, and 34 assists, for 70 points with the Florida Panthers in the 2018-19 season.
The Kitchener, Ontario, native has recorded 228 goals, 259 assists, and 487 points in 745 career games with the Senators, Panthers, St. Louis Blues, Canadiens, and Sharks.
