The NHL has seen multiple teams unveil new centre-ice designs for the upcoming season, including the Ottawa Senators and the Vancouver Canucks, with the designs receiving mixed reactions from fans around the league.
However, the two Canadian teams aren't the only ones with new designs, as an employee of the Panthers leaked an image of their new centre ice logo design, which appears to have the Panther head inside the bowl of the Stanley Cup, which they just won for the first time in franchise history.
Not all news regarding the Panthers' ice design is good news however, according to talk show host Andy Slater, multiple sources have told him that the employee who leaked the image of the new ice has been fired by the team.
The team was unhappy that their big reveal was upstaged by someone posting in on social media before they got a chance to announce it, and have allegedly taken action against the individual responsible.
While Slater did state that he had multiple sources confirm this news to him, it is still unclear if the Panthers did fire the employee, but it would not be surprising to see that the report by Slater is indeed true.
While unfortunate that the Panthers' new centre ice design was revealed the wrong way, no one can deny that the concept of having the Panther head inside the bowl of the Stanley Cup is a genius idea, and whoever thought of that idea needs a raise immediately!
