Tonight a massive player who has been in the NHL news a lot recently was ejected for a nasty hit on an opponent.
6'8 Rookie Ejected 10 Seconds
Like he did in his first NHL game NHL rookie Matt Rempe began tonight's game with a newsworthy moment. In his NHL debut, Rempe fought NHL tough guy Matt Martin before the puck even dropped. Now Rempe is in the news for more infamous actions as he laid a nasty hit on an opponent.
Just 10 seconds into the game Rempe was ejected and now could face a potential suspension for his actions on the Devils Nathan Bastian.
Players like Rempe who exist to be physical and rough on the other team do not often exist. The game handing out suspensions for hits such as this one is part of the reason why. It will be interesting to see what discipline Rempe faces and if it affects his NHL future.
