Rempe takes a controversial penalty during his first shift in playoffs
The first round is officially underway between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals and it is expected to be a fiesty match between the divisional rivals with enforcers Matt Rempe and Tom Wilson on both sides. During the match in his first shift of his playoff career, Matt Rempe got called with a controversial charging penalty to begin game one.
Matt Rempe takes a charging penalty on his first playoff shift
We are aware of Matt Rempe's dirty style of play, however in that hit you can see he doesn't even charge towards the player as he is slowly skating towards him while he had the puck. For once it appears like a missed call towards the Rangers enforcer.
Fans are even arguing that he only gets these penalty calls because of his goliath like build.
All things considered Matt Rempe might be the funniest player in NHL history. 90 feet tall and just swarmed by cops every time he steps on the ice
