It appears as though one of the top prospects in the entire NHL, Matvei Michkov, may have breached his contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Matvei Michkov just signed his entry-level contract with the Flyers last month, and while the team was really looking forward to having this young prospect, it now appears a breach of contract may change everything. Michkov was extremely frustrated with the team, as he spoke out and revealed all.

Note: the following was translated from Russian.

"I know, probably Philadelphia, I don't know whether they even know about existence or not, but I just came with my friends Uvi to play hockey, after all, it's a holiday." Michkov said.

When asked if the Flyers knew, he added: "To be honest, I don't know, I'm talking about this, I'm leaving now on the twentieth, I'm flying away, as if God forbid things worked out here."

It's very strange that a player who has a contract with his NHL club will not be clear on where he plans to play. It is now leading many people to compare Michkov to Nail Yakupov, who was seen as having so much potential but let it go to waste due to attitude problems.

In Michkov's interview with BreadSport, notice at the end of the clip how he just shrugs off the question.

Sounds like what he means is: I'm not sure if the Flyers know that I'm playing in this league or not, but I'm leaving on the 20th (this Saturday) so who really cares?

Michkov could be the next Yakupov (one of very few who has this archetype who doesn't work out tremendously well).

It's not a good start for what was supposed to be Michkov's North American debut, so here's hoping things change to avoid being labeled as Yakupov 2.0
