Now that the St. Louis Blues have just submitted two offer sheets to the Edmonton Oilers for Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg, it appears that Seattle Kraken star Matty Beniers could be the next victim, with the Philadelphia Flyers likely considering a similar move.
Matty Beniers would be a perfect fit in Philly. He's a center, which the Flyers are in desperate need of, and he's about to enter his prime. The Flyers have a ton of draft picks they can offload via an offer sheet, and lots of cap space to make a massive offer that Seattle wouldn't be able to afford.
The center position is one of the most coveted positions in the game, so Beniers holds a ton of value right now. Due to this, the Flyers may not be the only team interested in his services, so no doubt teams with the cap space and draft picks will strongly consider this.
Now that more and more teams may start considering offer sheets, the landscape of the summer free agency market may start to change, as teams shift their focus away from unrestricted free agents (UFA) and more to restricted free agents (RFA) instead.
Last season with the Seattle Kraken was fairly good for Matty Beniers, as he played in 77 games and collected 15 goals and 37 points.
