Robert Thomas is off to yet another great start for the St. Louis Blues this season, but unfortunately, he's been hit with a brutal injury at the worst time.

The St. Louis Blues have posted a 4-3-0 record thus far in 2024/25, with the team looking to get back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but now those hopes have taken a major hit. The team already lost veteran Torey Krug before the season began, and now it appears they'll be without another top star for a lengthy stint.

According to reports, 2024 All-Star Robert Thomas will be on the sidelines for up to six weeks with a fractured ankle, with the team revealing that he will be re-evaluated in six weeks.

Thomas left the game against the Winnipeg Jets the team ended up losing 3-2, and the early assumption was that it was a bad injury, with confirmation being that he could miss a significant portion of the season.

This brutal news comes after a career year from Thomas a season ago when he tallied 26 goals and 86 points while playing in all 82 games, and through seven games this season, the 25-year-old goal and five assists. With Thomas out, the Blues are down to just two proven centers in Buchenevich and Brayden Schenn, making their hopes of a Stanley Cup Playoff push that much harder with that type of scoring punch coming out of the lineup.

However, this team remains confident they can hang in the race long enough until Thomas gets back, but with an injury such as a fractured ankle, even if he does return in early December, this is something that could end up bothering him for the rest of the season.
