In the first period of the St. Louis Blues/Tampa Bay Lightning Tuesday night battle, young forward Dylan Holloway put his body on the line, getting in the way and blocking a puck that he ultimately took to the neck.
While it looked painful, it didn't look like that bad a play, with Holloway even finishing his shift, but shortly after the training staff were seen stabilizing him before he ultimately had to be stretchered away from the bench.
It was a very tough scene for those in attendance, as it wasn't clear in the crowd what was happening on the bench, with his teammates surrounding him during what would have been a very tough time for Holloway and his teammates.
After this moment, the Blues announced that the final minute of the first period would be delayed until the second period, giving the fans and the players on the ice time to deal with the very scary situation.
In another update, it was revealed that Holloway was in an ambulance and on the way to a local hospital, with Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli then revealing that Holloway will be okay, with his airways open and unobstructed, which is the most important fact at this point in time.
This was a very scary situation for Holloway, so we hope that he can get better and back to 100% so he can take the ice once more as soon as possible, with the young forward becoming a crucial part of this team as he has begun living up to his immense talent.
