Hockey is well known to be a very dangerous sport, and on Tuesday we saw the effects of that with St. Louis' Dylan Holloway, who had to be stretchered from the bench after taking a puck to the neck. He would finish his shift before doing so, showing just how tough players in the NHL are, but after being transported to hospital, there were many fears over his condition.
Shortly after he left the rink Frank Seravalli gave an update that he was doing well and no major damage had been done, a massive sigh of relief to every fan of the league.
Now, Blues coach Drew Bannister has given an official update, and while he didn't reveal any specific details, it was a very positive one for the young forward.
At this point, there are no specifics on what occurred to send Holloway to the hospital beyond taking a puck to the neck, but given how positive the talk around his situation is, it appears there will be no long-lasting damage done. According to Blues players, they heard that Holloway was doing well as the game continued, with captain Brayden Schenn noting that the team had to get the win for Holloway.
Ultimately, it's a major relief that Holloway will be okay, and while there's no timeline for his return to the ice as of yet, there's optimism that he should be able to get back on the ice at some point in the near future.
