For some time now, there has been speculation that the San Jose Sharks are looking to move captain Logan Couture, and now their GM has addressed the chatter.
The San Jose Sharks have made some huge moves in recent times, and with the No. 1 overall pick and another lottery pick on the way, this team is building for quite the positive future. That doesn't mean they're not making moves for the present however, as the team just acquired Barclay Goodrow on waivers as they look to fill their current roster.
One question the organization can't escape however is the rumours of a trade with captain Logan Couture, and after months, it became too much for GM Mike Grier, as he officially addressed the rumour in a recent interview;
The 35-year old has been with the Sharks since making his NHL debut way back in 2009, and despite playing just six games a season ago, the team are sticking by their captain. The year before, Couture showed he can still get it done, tallying an impressive 67 points for the struggling Sharks, but even with those low points, Couture loves the organization and doesn't see himself anywhere else.
With a bright future ahead, the Sharks need veterans to lead the way, and with Couture and Goodrow now together again ahead of 2024-25, things are looking up in San Jose.
