Mikey Eyssimont loses his temper against Arber Xhekaj
During last night's matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning, where Montreal sustained a devastating 7-4 loss, Arber Xhekaj found himself involved in a fight during the last few seconds of the game.
During the final moments of the game, there was a moment of confusion that resulted in Mikey Eyssimont losing his temper and fighting Arber Xhekaj. The cause for the confusion that lead to the fight was that Eyssimont's teammate, Brandon Hagel, was injured in a collision with his own teammate, Steven Stamkos. It seems that Eyssimont wanted to defend his injured teammate, and decided that Xhekaj was responsible for the injury, causing a fight between the two.
Here is a replay of the somewhat confusing incident, and the fight:
Here is an alternate angle that shows Eyssimont instigating the fight against Xhekaj:
The situation is best summed up by Eric Engels, who described the incident in a tweet:
"Eyssemont goes crazy on Xhekaj thinking he had something to do with Hagel going down. It was Stamkos who crushed Hagel."
The question that remains is whether Xhekaj will forgive and forget this honest mistake, or if he will remember this, and wait for the perfect opportunity to hit Eyssemont to settle the score.
