Mitch Marner has been sidelined with an injury for the past few games and we now have a new update on his status.

Earlier this week, the Toronto Maple Leafs shocked fans by placing Mitch Marner on the LTIR. This worried fans as Marner is a key member of the Maple Leafs' core but luckily it did not seem to be too serious.

The Maple Leafs have placed F Mitch Marner on LTI retroactive to March 7 for roster management purposes, and recalled D Marshall Rifai from the @TorontoMarlies.

Today Marner was spotted practicing on the Maple Leafs top powerplay unit.

Targeting a return on Saturday in Montreal

This season Marner has scored 25 goals, 51 assists, and 76 points through only 62 games. Despite missing so much time this season, Marner is still third in team scoring behind only Auston Matthews and William Nylander, who have 99 and 95 points respectively.

It is now anticipated that Marner will return for the original six matchup versus the Montreal Canadiens and will hopefully be completely ready for the final stretch of the season and the playoffs.
