Five teams emerge as contenders to trade for Mitch Marner
Mitch Marner is reportedly very likely to be traded this offseason and five teams have now emerged as front runners for the Toronto Maple Leafs winger.
Recently insider Frank Seravalli spoke on Mitch Marner's future and his take propelled many trade rumors as the likelihood that Marner returns is quite low.
The odds of Mitch Marner returning next year as a Leaf feel as low as 5%.
"I think there's a five percent chance or maybe even less that he'll be a Leaf next season."
With this, five different teams have emerged as contenders for the Maple Leafs' star.
Anaheim Ducks, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins and Utah.
These five teams are all in varying positions in the league's standings as the Ducks and Blackhawks are both bottom three teams, the Coyotes are a bottom seven team, the Penguins barely missed the playoffs, and the Islanders just squeaked into the playoffs.
Undoubtedly Marner would make these teams a lot better and would likely elevate whoever he plays with whether that is Trevor Zegras in Anaheim, Connor Bedard in Chicago, Mat Barzal in New York, Sidney Crosby in Pittsburgh, or Clayton Keller in Utah.
