The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that former defenseman Larry McIntyre has passed away at the age of 75.

McIntyre played in 41 career NHL games, all with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He appeared in a single game in the 1969-70 season and was a plus three with one shot on goal.

He would return to the league during the 1972-73 season where he would play another 40 games for the Leafs, this time registering three assists, 22 shots on goal, 26 penalty minutes, and earned a rating of +6.

The Leafs made a post on X honoring the defenseman and sending their condolences to his friends and family.

Surprisingly, the post actually made its way to the family of McIntyre with his nephew commenting on it, thanking the team for the kind words.

Additionally, several Leafs fans who knew Larry personally also saw the post, leaving nice comments about the former defenseman.

It seems like he was truly a beloved member of his community.

McIntyre was not quite done with hockey after his time in the NHL came to an end.

He continued to play, bouncing around leagues including the AHL and the now-defunct Centennial Hockey League.

He even made a comeback in the late 90s to become a coach for the Tulsa Oilers of the Centennial league, first as an assistant, but then taking over as head coach during the 1998-99 season.

McIntyre will be dearly missed. The House of Hockey family would like to send our deepest condolences to his friends and family. Rest in peace, Larry.
